NEWARK, NJ – A shooting incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. near Norfolk and Sussex Avenue in Newark, resulting in a woman being injured.
The victim was hit in the leg by gunfire from three unidentified males who discharged multiple rounds. Responding law enforcement officers secured the area and found shell casings at the scene.
Schools in the vicinity were locked down as a precaution. There were no other injuries reported.
The suspects are currently at large, and a heightened police presence has been established in the area as the investigation continues.
