Shooting in Green Tree Deemed Suicide

GREEN TREE, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating an incident involving a fatal shooting and a subsequent suicide in Green Tree.

At approximately 5:42 pm, County 9-1-1 received a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Woodridge Drive. Upon arrival, first responders found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers quickly extracted the victim from the residence, and he was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as a relative of the victim, remained inside the residence. The South Hills SWAT team was called to the scene and upon entering the residence, they discovered the suspect, an adult male, deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
