$500 Reward Offered in Unsolved Albemarle County Homicide Case

Albemarle County, VA – The Albemarle County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance and offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the homicide of Joshua Lamont Jones, which occurred one year ago on February 21.

Jones, a 34-year-old Charlottesville resident, was found suffering from a gunshot wound on the night of February 21, 2023, in the 300 block of Timberland Lane. Despite being rushed to the University of Virginia Medical Center, he was later pronounced deceased.

Captain Darrell Byers, Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division, emphasized the department’s dedication to solving this case. He urged the community to share any information, emphasizing that no detail is too minor. The police believe community cooperation is crucial in bringing justice to Jones and his family.

The department has provided contact information for those who have leads on the case, encouraging calls to the Criminal Investigations Division or anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers.
