WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Fourth District are requesting assistance from the public to locate a suspect involved in multiple robberies of convenience stores in Northeast Washington, D.C.

The latest incident occurred early Wednesday, April 17, around 12:46 AM, when the suspect entered a store in the 5200 block of 3rd Street, Northeast. He used a fire extinguisher to spray at victims before stealing the cash register drawer and fleeing the scene.

This followed a similar episode on Monday, April 15, at approximately 6:30 AM, at a store on the 300 block of Hawaii Avenue, Northeast. The suspect grabbed several items, assaulted the clerk with a fire extinguisher, and then took the cash register and other items.

Surveillance footage capturing the suspect’s actions is available, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The public is advised not to confront the suspect but to report any information to law enforcement immediately.
