CAMP HILL, PA — The Lower Allen Township Police Department responded to a fraud report from a 74-year-old resident of Sussex Road, Camp Hill, which occurred around 4:00 PM on October 24, 2023. The elderly victim was approached by a male and female duo who offered to pave her driveway for $38. After completing the work, which was later deemed substandard, the pair demanded $2,300.
The suspects, identified as Stanley Mitchell and Sonia Tene, persuaded the victim to withdraw the hefty sum in cash. An investigation into the phone number provided on a flyer left by the suspects linked back to Mitchell and Tene. This duo has been associated with similar driveway sealing scams across neighboring states over the past decade.
The flyer, marked with the initials “SM,” helped corroborate the victim’s description of Mitchell. Additionally, an old driver’s license photo of Tene matched the victim’s description of the female suspect. A warrant for Sonia Tene’s arrest has been successfully served, addressing this decade-long string of fraudulent activities.
