The Rainforest Cafe at Menlo Park Mall, a beloved jungle-themed dining spot, officially shut its doors on Wednesday, February 19, after 26 years of operation.

The closure, attributed to an unrenewed lease within the mall, marks the end of an era for the Edison location, leaving just one Rainforest Cafe in the state.

The restaurant, known for its animatronic animals, tropical ambiance, and family-friendly dining experience, had been a fixture at the Menlo Park Mall since 1999.

Its closure was confirmed by Rainforest Cafe Chief Operating Officer Terry Turney in a statement shared with News 12.

“We are grateful for the years of support from our loyal guests and dedicated team members,” Turney said. He also hinted at future plans, noting that the company is actively seeking a new location to continue serving its New Jersey fanbase.
