Investigators seized additional narcotics, 17 firearms and thousands of dollars after search warrants in Virginia linked to an Allegany County traffic stop.
A narcotics trafficking investigation that began with a traffic stop in Allegany County has expanded across state lines, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs, firearms and cash in Virginia, according to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began when deputies conducted a traffic stop and recovered significant amounts of controlled dangerous substances, including cocaine, methamphetamine, LSD, MDMA, psilocybin mushrooms, ketamine, cannabis and prescription medications. Authorities also seized approximately $29,087 in U.S. currency.

Evidence review led to Virginia search warrants
Following the arrest, deputies continued reviewing evidence and pursuing investigative leads developed during the case. Information uncovered during that process led investigators to seek five search warrants in Virginia.
The warrants included one residential search warrant and four storage unit search warrants. The Northwest Virginia Regional Gang and Drug Task Force executed the warrants with assistance from federal partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Additional drugs, firearms and cash recovered
During the searches, investigators recovered additional large quantities of controlled dangerous substances, including marijuana and THC products, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, PCP, MDMA and methamphetamine.
Authorities also seized 17 firearms with ammunition and approximately $17,400 in U.S. currency. Investigators believe the narcotics were intended for distribution throughout the Allegany County area.
Investigation remains active
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges could be filed as investigators continue to examine evidence.
“Their expertise, cooperation, and support were instrumental in the preparation and execution of the five search warrants, which led to the recovery of substantial additional evidence and assets,” the sheriff’s office said while thanking the DEA and the Northwest Virginia Regional Gang and Drug Task Force for their assistance.
Officials said the case highlights the impact of cooperation between local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in disrupting drug trafficking operations and removing narcotics, firearms and criminal proceeds from communities.
