NORFOLK, VA – A 25-year-old Honduran national died Thursday morning after fleeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers during a traffic stop and running onto a busy highway, where he was struck by a passing vehicle.
ICE officials identified the man as Jose Castro-Rivera, who was in the United States illegally.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 11 a.m. during a targeted enforcement operation when officers stopped a vehicle believed to be transporting individuals unlawfully present in the country.
