Man charged after woman assaulted during apartment dispute in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A 36-year-old man was arrested after a woman told police he physically assaulted her during a heated domestic dispute inside a North Empire Court apartment on Sunday morning.

Just before 10 a.m., officers were dispatched to 304 North Empire Court after a 911 call reported a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, a 28-year-old woman informed them that a verbal fight between her and Ronnie Garrison had escalated to physical violence.

The victim, whose name was not released, described the altercation to police, stating that Garrison struck her during the dispute. Officers took Garrison into custody at the scene without incident. He was transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police Headquarters where he was processed and arraigned on assault charges.

The full extent of the victim’s injuries was not immediately released, and it is unclear if medical treatment was required.

The incident remains under investigation.
