Argument on 7th Street turns violent with stabbing and arrest

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man has been arrested after a verbal dispute turned violent, resulting in a stabbing Tuesday afternoon in Northwest D.C., police said.

The incident happened around 12:21 p.m. in the 1800 block of 7th Street, where a confrontation between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation. Investigators said the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim before officers arrived.

The victim was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police identified the suspect as 55-year-old Andre Thomas of Northwest D.C., who was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife).
