Teen charged after armed moped carjacking in Southeast DC
WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 14-year-old boy was arrested after police said he helped steal a moped at gunpoint Saturday afternoon in Southeast, near the Navy Yard.
The carjacking occurred around 2:50 p.m. in the 700 block of 8th Street SE, when two suspects approached the victim and demanded the moped. One of them pulled a handgun before the pair fled with the vehicle.

Quick arrest after stolen moped spotted
Responding officers soon spotted the stolen moped and the suspects nearby in the Navy Yard area. One suspect was detained without incident, police said.
Detectives charged the 14-year-old juvenile male from Southeast DC with Armed Carjacking (Gun). A second suspect remains at large.
