Armed robber strikes Queens business, assaults employee and steals $1,300

An armed man in black assaulted a worker and stole $1,300 during a late-night robbery at a Queens business.

QUEENS — A masked gunman assaulted a store employee and stole more than a thousand dollars during a robbery at a Queens business last month, police said.

The incident occurred on Saturday, June 14, at approximately 9:50 p.m. inside 84-48 Manton Street, when a 73-year-old male employee and a 52-year-old male employee were confronted by an unidentified individual armed with a firearm.

According to police, the suspect demanded money, then struck the 52-year-old employee in the head multiple times with the weapon. He then went behind the counter and removed $1,300 in cash before fleeing on foot westbound along Manton Street.

The injured employee sustained pain to the head but declined hospitalization.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black hat, black balaclava, black jacket, black sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers.

The NYPD has not made any arrests and is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect.
