Police recover gun after armed robbery suspect caught in Baltimore
Brooklyn Park, MD — A Baltimore man is in custody after allegedly robbing a Brooklyn Park convenience store at gunpoint Wednesday evening and attempting to escape on a scooter, police said.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 5 at approximately 6:50 p.m. when officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 4000 Ritchie Highway for a report of a commercial armed robbery.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the employee. The employee complied with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene heading toward Baltimore on a scooter.
Officers quickly began canvassing the area and located a man matching the suspect’s description near Seagull Avenue and Round Road in Baltimore. The suspect was positively identified at the scene and taken into custody without incident. Officers also recovered the handgun used in the robbery near where the suspect was apprehended.
The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Imean Abdullah Shaheed of Baltimore. He was arrested and charged in connection with the robbery.
