Armed trio carjacks driver after roadside ruse in Laurel

LAUREL, MD – A driver was pulled from his vehicle and carjacked early Friday morning after stopping to avoid hitting a man on crutches, police said.

The incident happened around 1:20 a.m. on Nov. 28 in the 500 block of Brock Bridge Road in Laurel.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, the victim stopped his vehicle when a man with crutches appeared to be crossing the road.

Moments later, two more suspects emerged from nearby woods—one possibly armed with a shotgun—forcing the victim from his car before driving off in it.

Police investigating late-night ambush

Detectives from the Western District are investigating the carjacking, which they say appeared to be a coordinated ambush. Authorities described the suspects as three males, including the individual using crutches.

No injuries were reported, and police have not disclosed the make or model of the stolen vehicle.
