HURLOCK, MD – Deputy State Fire Marshals are investigating two deliberately set fires that broke out hours apart at an unoccupied home on Jones Village Road late Sunday night.

The first blaze was reported at the residence in the 6300 block of Jones Village Road and was quickly brought under control by firefighters. Investigators completed their on-scene assessment, but just over two hours later, fire crews were called back to find the same structure fully engulfed in flames.

Fire departments from Hurlock, Federalsburg, and neighboring communities responded to the second alarm. After examining both incidents, investigators determined the fires were intentionally set.

No injuries were reported, and the home was vacant at the time. The Office of the State Fire Marshal is asking anyone with information about the fires to call 410-713-3780. Tips can be provided anonymously.
