Attempted Robbery Reported in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 33-year-old woman was assaulted during an attempted robbery in Sunset Park earlier this month, police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, in front of 644 4th Avenue. The victim was approached by an unidentified individual who attempted to forcibly take her bag. During the struggle, the assailant struck the woman in the back of the head before fleeing the scene on foot.

The victim declined medical attention at the time of the incident, according to authorities.

Police are continuing to investigate, and no arrests have been made.
