Baltimore Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

BALTIMORE, MD — A development was announced in an ongoing investigation of an attempted murder case within Baltimore’s Northern District this week.

On February 29, 2024, Ray Johnston, a 23-year-old resident of Baltimore, was arrested under a warrant charging him with attempted-degree murder related to a shooting incident that happened on February 23.

The shooting took place in the 500 block of 29th Street and resulted in a 24-year-old male victim sustaining a critical gunshot wound to the chest. Following the incident, another victim, a 23-year-old male, sought medical attention for multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were listed in critical condition.

Johnston was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility as detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Baltimore Police Department has not released further details at this time but urges anyone with information to come forward.
