Baltimore police arrest armed carjacker after foot chase

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 25-year-old Baltimore man was arrested early Thursday in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred hours earlier on Eastern Avenue, police said.

Officers from the Regional Auto Theft Task Force (RATT), with assistance from Baltimore County Aviation, tracked the suspect to Gwynns Falls Parkway around 2:30 a.m., authorities said.

Following a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended the suspect in the 2300 block of Ashburton Street.

Police said the suspect was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with multiple counts of armed carjacking, robbery, assault, and handgun violations.
