BALTIMORE, MD – Buying a house is no longer just a dream for Tamicka Dixon-Epps, who claimed a $100,000 top prize from the Maryland Lottery’s Double Your Money scratch-off game.
The lifelong Baltimore resident stopped by Lottery headquarters Monday to collect her winnings, still in disbelief over the life-changing ticket.
“I’ve only played once or twice in my life,” Dixon-Epps said, admitting she never buys tickets on her own.
That changed when a friend invited her to meet at a Citgo station on Harford Road — a location that happened to sell lottery tickets.

A casual choice leads to a big win
After their conversation, her friend decided to buy a ticket and convinced her to do the same. Dixon-Epps selected a $10 Double Your Money scratch-off and was stunned when her scanner repeatedly displayed the $100,000 win.
“I just didn’t believe it,” she said. “$100,000? There’s no way that could be right.”

The station manager confirmed the prize, and Dixon-Epps said she nearly collapsed from the shock as her friend jumped and shouted beside her.
Life-changing plans ahead
Now with her prize officially claimed, Dixon-Epps said her priority is simple — buying a home, a goal that once felt far out of reach.
The Citgo at 2330 Harford Road will receive a $1,000 retailer bonus for selling the top-prize ticket.
Game still offering more chances
The Double Your Money scratch-off, which launched in July, still has nine remaining $100,000 top prizes and two $50,000 second-tier prizes available to players.
