BEEKMAN, NY – A 38-year-old Beekman man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he broke into a local pharmacy, then was arrested again hours later for returning to the same location in violation of a court order.

According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 3:40 p.m. on November 22 to the Total Care Pharmacy at 2859 Route 55 for a reported burglary in progress.

When they arrived, deputies found evidence of a forced entry and discovered that medications had been stolen from the building.

During their investigation, deputies located Ryan T. Gabriel nearby on foot and took him into custody in connection with the break-in. He was accused of causing significant property damage while stealing items from inside the pharmacy.

Suspect charged, ordered to stay away from scene

Gabriel was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglar’s tools.

He was arraigned before the Town of Beekman Court and released under probation supervision with a court order requiring him to remain at least 500 feet away from the pharmacy.

A short time later, deputies on patrol reportedly found Gabriel standing in front of the same pharmacy, violating the stay-away order.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said all charges are accusations, and Gabriel is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
