Belmar Shuts Down Boardwalk

March 30, 2020

BELMAR-As many neighboring communities shut down their boardwalk, Belmar, in Monmouth County said those closures have caused a large influx of new visitors in recent days.

“Our concerns are for public safety and health and well being of our residents in these trying times,” said Mayor Mark Waslifer. “Due to these observations and concerns, we have collectively made the decison to close Belmar’s boardwalk until further notice.”

“To give our residents a place to be outside and get fresh air, we are leaving the beach open for now,” Walsifer added.
