BELTSVILLE, Md. – A Beltsville man is facing charges after Prince George’s County Police say he was caught impersonating a police officer while driving an SUV outfitted with emergency lights and sirens.
Detectives identified the suspect as 33-year-old Jonathan Michael Davis.

He was taken into custody earlier this month after officers discovered firearms, badges, and other police-style gear during a traffic stop.
Key Points
- Jonathan Michael Davis, 33, of Beltsville, was arrested for impersonating a police officer.
- Officers found guns, badges, handcuffs, and a tactical vest in his vehicle.
- A later search of his home uncovered more law enforcement-style equipment.
Traffic stop leads to discovery
According to Prince George’s County Police, the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. on October 11 when patrol officers stopped a black Chevy Tahoe near Laurel Bowie Road and Montpelier Drive. The vehicle was equipped with red and blue emergency lights and sirens.

Inside, officers found several items associated with law enforcement, including multiple handguns, handcuffs, badges, and a tactical vest. A “ghost gun” — a firearm without a serial number — was also recovered during the arrest.
Search warrant reveals more equipment
Investigators later executed a search warrant at Davis’s home on October 17, where they seized additional items suggesting he had been representing himself as a police officer. Police released photos showing the recovered weapons, badges, and tactical gear.
Investigation remains active
Davis is charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and related firearms offenses. Detectives are working to identify any individuals who may have been approached or stopped by Davis while he posed as an officer.
