Bloomingdale man charged for luring and raping 8-year-old child

BLOOMINGDALE, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces that Juan Ixcotoyac-Tiu, age 25, of Bloomingdale, New Jersey has been indicted for Luring and the Sexual Assault against a child.

A Passaic County Grand Jury has returned Indictment No. 21-07-00395-I charging Juan Ixcotoyac-Tiu for sexual offenses against a child that took place in the area of Leary Avenue and Oak Street, in the City of Bloomingdale on May 6, 2021 when the child was 8 years old.

Mr. Juan Ixcotoyac-Tiu was indicted on one count of second-degree Luring, one count of second-degree Sexual Assault, one count of third-degree Criminal Restraint, and one count of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The sentencing exposure on second degree Luring is five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% of the term to be served before parole eligibility pursuant to the No Early Release Act; on second degree Sexual Assault it is five to ten years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% of the term to be served before parole eligibility pursuant to the No Early Release Act; on third-degree Criminal Restraint it is three to five years in New Jersey State Prison; on third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child it is three to five years in New Jersey State Prison.

If convicted, Mr. Juan Ixcotoyac-Tiu will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law registration requirements. Mr. Ixcotoyac-Tiu is currently detained pending the disposition of this case. Mr. Ixcotoyac-Tiu will be scheduled by the Court for arraignment within the next month.
