WHITING, NJ – Residents of Cedar Glen Lakes are being urged to boil their tap water after a water main break disrupted service in the community, prompting an emergency advisory Wednesday.

Manchester Police announced the notice early Thursday, warning residents that the advisory applies to Cedar Glen Lakes homes in Whiting only.

Officials said repair crews are already on scene working to restore service and fix the damaged line.

Precautionary steps urged for residents

Until further notice, residents are instructed to boil all tap water for at least 20 minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation. Police also advised allowing boiled water to cool before use and warned residents to avoid swallowing water while showering or bathing.

The advisory remains in effect until laboratory testing confirms that the water supply is safe. A follow-up alert will be issued once the boil order has been lifted.

Community assistance available

Residents seeking more information are encouraged to contact the Cedar Glen Lakes Association Office for updates and guidance as repairs continue.
