Suspect sought after daylight robbery in Southeast DC

Washington, DC — Police are searching for a man who robbed a victim in broad daylight Tuesday afternoon in Southeast DC, after implying he had a weapon and fleeing with stolen property.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of Half Street SE. The suspect reportedly approached the victim, suggested he was armed, and demanded their belongings. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Surveillance footage from a nearby location captured the suspect, and police have released an image to the public in hopes of identifying him.

Authorities have not said whether a weapon was ever displayed. No injuries were reported.

The suspect remains at large as detectives continue their investigation. MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
