BRICK, NJ – Brick Township announced its Thanksgiving holiday schedule, including municipal office closures and adjusted public works services, while Mayor Lisa Crate encouraged residents to support small businesses throughout the holiday season.
All municipal offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.
There will be no public works collections on Thursday. Regular Thursday pickups will take place Friday, and Friday’s collections will move to Saturday. The Public Works Recycling Center on Ridge Road will be closed Thursday but open Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Mayor calls on residents to support local businesses
As the holiday shopping season begins, Mayor Crate urged residents to “shop local first,” noting that Brick’s small businesses play a vital role in the community. “Our small businesses are the heartbeat of Brick Township,” she said. “They are owned and staffed by our neighbors and support civic groups, community events, and youth programs.”
She encouraged residents to choose local shops, restaurants, and service providers this weekend and beyond, emphasizing that every local purchase strengthens the township’s economy. “When we support our small businesses, we strengthen our community,” Crate said.
