Ten charged in Bronx mass shootings that left three dead and seven wounded
Bronx, NY – Ten suspects, including three under the age of 18, have been indicted in a sweeping Bronx investigation that ties two mass shootings and a third fatal attack to a string of violent retaliations that left three people dead and seven wounded over the course of ten days.
Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said the defendants face murder, attempted murder, and weapons charges in connection with a series of shootings between August 23 and September 2 that shook several Bronx neighborhoods. Investigators say the incidents — including a deadly burst of gunfire at Haffen Park and another on Allerton Avenue — are linked by ballistics to 13 additional shootings across New York City and beyond.
In the Haffen Park attack on August 23, prosecutors allege Davean Reyes, 20, and two teenagers opened fire during a crowded basketball tournament in Baychester. More than 50 rounds were fired from 11 guns, killing 32-year-old Jaceil Blanks and 17-year-old Anthonaya Campbell, who later died from her injuries. Three other people were wounded.
Days later, on September 1, authorities say five men — Heron Martin, 21; Shamir Murray, 19; Kai Oulai, 19; Jose Gomez, 18; and a 16-year-old — drove to Allerton Avenue, where four of them exited a car and fired 13 shots, killing 24-year-old Jamari Henry and wounding four others. Police recovered five firearms at the scene, including a .45-caliber pistol modified with a Glock switch that converted it to fully automatic.
A third shooting, on September 2 near Bronx Park East, claimed the life of 21-year-old Jontay Davis. Prosecutors say Desean Edwards, 22, and unidentified accomplices shot Davis in the head before dumping him near St. Barnabas Hospital. Three guns were recovered, including a ghost gun.

Authorities seized 13 firearms in total, with five linked by ballistics to 13 other shootings — including incidents in Mount Vernon and South Carolina. Prosecutors said the arrests mark a major step in disrupting a cycle of revenge-fueled gunfire that spanned neighborhoods and left residents on edge.
The defendants remain in custody following arraignments in Bronx Supreme Court. All have been remanded without bail except Robert Royal, 25, who faces separate weapons charges and is being held on $200,000 bond.
