Bronx man shot multiple times in University Avenue attack

BRONX, NY – A 38-year-old man was shot multiple times Saturday night in a violent encounter outside 1550 University Avenue.

The victim was approached by an unidentified man who started a brief conversation before pulling a firearm and opening fire.

The gunman fled on foot after the shooting, heading east on Featherbed and then south on Nelson Avenue.

Victim hospitalized in critical but stable condition

Emergency Medical Services rushed the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition following the attack. Investigators have not yet identified a motive or connection between the two men.

Police release suspect description

Authorities described the suspect as a male with a medium complexion, believed to be between 50 and 65 years old, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants, blue and white sneakers, and a knit hat. Witnesses noted he was walking with a cane as he fled.

Detectives seek public’s help
