Buffalo cop charged with two counts of domestic violence, harrassment

BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Keenan J. Redmon of Buffalo was arraigned on Friday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge JaHarr Pridgen on one count of Menacing in the Second Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor) and two counts of Harassment in the Second Degree (violations).

It is alleged that on July 22, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the defendant subjected a female victim to physical contact by forcibly grabbing the back of her neck. The incident occurred at a restaurant on Hertel Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

It is further alleged that on August 24, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the defendant forced the female victim into a bathroom and brandished what appeared to be a pistol while threatening the victim. The alleged incident occurred while the defendant was inside the victim’s home in the City of Buffalo.

The defendant is a member of the Buffalo Police officer who was off-duty at the time of both alleged incidents.

Redmon is scheduled to return on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He was released on his own recognizance as the charges are non-qualifying for bail.

Judge Pridgen issued a stay away order of protection on behalf of the victim.

If convicted of all charges, Redmon faces a maximum of one year in jail.
