BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 61-year-old Benjamin Frost, Sr. of Buffalo was virtually sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to a determinate sentence of 10 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.
On March 27, 2019, at approximately 9:50 p.m., the defendant attacked a female victim with a samurai sword, with the intent to cause her death, inside an apartment at the Kenfield Homes on Edison Avenue in the City of Buffalo.
The victim was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she was treated for severe cuts to her head, arms, hand, thighs and back. She continues to recover from her injuries.
Frost pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “B” felony, on November 24, 2020. He pleaded guilty to the highest sustainable charge in the indictment against him.
DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department E District officers for their work in the investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Chief Rachel L. Newton of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
