$500K Powerball winner sold at Buffalo BJ’s

A $1 Powerball Double Play add-on transformed an ordinary lottery ticket into a $500,000 prize after a winning ticket was sold at a Buffalo BJ’s Wholesale Club.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo lottery player is holding a $500,000 winning Powerball Double Play ticket after matching the winning numbers in the Saturday, July 11 drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club, 5183 Transit Road.

The $500,000 prize came through the Double Play feature, a $1 add-on that gives Powerball players a second drawing using the same numbers from their original ticket. Double Play drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday about 30 minutes after the regular Powerball drawing.

Prizes in Double Play range from $7 to the $10 million top prize.

The New York Lottery did not release additional information about the winning ticket.
