CANTON, OH – Sandra Armstead of Canton is overjoyed after winning $150,000 on the Ohio Lottery’s Double Cash Doubler scratch-off, a delightful surprise just in time for her birthday.

Celebrating her special day on October 3, Sandra decided to treat herself with a few $5 lottery tickets. “I scratched them off and then I said, ‘ooh, I got a winner’ but I didn’t scratch the amount,” she recounted. Initially thinking she had won $10 or $15, her excitement skyrocketed when she realized the true prize. “I said, ‘$150,000!’ I got the magnifying glass. This says $150,000. I said, ‘I don’t believe it.’”

After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, Sandra will take home approximately $108,000.

Her winning ticket was purchased at S & K Mini Mart, located at 2502 11th St SW in Canton. Sandra plans to use her newfound fortune to pay off debts and to tithe to her church.

The Double Cash Doubler is a $5 scratch-off with a top prize of $150,000. As of October 10, 2024, there are four top prizes still available in the game.
