"Allahu Akbar" Shouting Islamic Terrorists Kill Journalists, Cops in Paris Attack

PARIS,FRANCE-Two terrorists shouting “Allahu Akbar”, translated “God is Great” fired their weapons on the streets of Paris this morning and killed at least 12 journalists and 2 police officers.

The incident occurred at the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, known for publishing cartoons mocking the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.

“The assassination of journalists at Charlie Hebdo, cynically targeted on press day to maximise casualties, is an attempt to assassinate the free press,” wrote Michelle Stanistreet, general secretary of the National Union of Journalists in the United Kingdom.

“Everybody here at the White House are with the families of those who were killed or injured in this attack,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in an interview this morning on MSNBC.

After the attack the gunmen fled north to Paris’ Porte de Pantin Metro Station.

Huckabee Exploring 2016 Presidential Run for Republicans

Little Rock – Governor Mike Huckabee will announce tonight on his Fox News show that he is leaving the network after six-and-a-half years as the host of “Huckabee.” To close out his final show, Gov. Huckabee said:

“Tonight I will do more than just say goodnight. I will say goodbye. This is the last edition of ‘Huckabee’ on the Fox News Channel. It’s been the ride of a lifetime, and I have never had so much fun in my life. But I also realize that God hasn’t put me on earth just to have a good time or to make a good living, but rather has put me on earth to try to make a good life.

“There has been a great deal of speculation as to whether I would run for President. If I were willing to absolutely rule that out, I could keep doing this show. But I can’t make such a declaration. I won’t make a decision about running until late in the spring of 2015, but the continued chatter has put Fox News into a position that is not fair to them nor is it possible for me to openly determine political and financial support to justify a race. The honorable thing to do at this point is to end my tenure here at Fox. As much as I have loved doing the show, I cannot bring myself to rule out another Presidential run. So as we say in television, stay tuned!”

Texas A&M Student Assistant Hits WVU Players During Liberty Bowl

Texas A&M sideline student assistant Mike Lowery crossed the line as he assaulted students from West Virginia University who came near him on the sidelines on several occasions.  The well intended body check here and a calculated punch to the back of the head there, but Lowery claims he didn’t do it on purpose.

“Something like this was never my intention,” he tweeted after the game. “I haven’t spoken with any reporters about anything.”

“In the heat of the moment of yesterday’s game I did lose myself with everything going on,” he said of the event. “To the players involved I  apologize for the ignorance I displayed and there was nothing personal with the actions made on that sideline yesterday.”

After being notified of the hits, head coach Kevin Sumlin left Lowery in the locker room, nowhere to be found on the sidelines, leading to speculation that Lowery is now an “Ex-sideline student assistant”.

Did a Tornado Really Touch Down at the Rose Bowl?

PASADENA,CA-Swirling winds swept canopies and furniture twenty to thirty feet in the air in a scene reminiscent of a tornado suspense film.   But did a tornado touch down a few hundred feet from where the Rose Bowl was being played?

It was a dust devil, a common occurrence from California to the mid-west.  While a dust devil has similarities to a tornado, it is not a tornado.

WIKIPEDIA: A dust devil is a strong, well-formed, and relatively long-lived whirlwind, ranging from small (half a meter wide and a few meters tall) to large (more than 10 meters wide and more than 1000 meters tall). The primary vertical motion is upward. Dust devils are usually harmless, but can on rare occasions grow large enough to pose a threat to both people and property. They are comparable to tornadoes in that both are a weather phenomenon of a vertically oriented rotating column of air. Most tornadoes are associated with a larger parent circulation, the mesocyclone on the back of a supercell thunderstorm. Dust devils form as a swirling updraft under sunny conditions during fair weather, rarely coming close to the intensity of a tornado.
