By Perry Hicks Donald J. Trump arrived in Washington with so many long knives arrayed against him, one would think he would have been more cautious about just who he would retain. Astonishingly, he was not. Consider two of Obama’s holdovers: FBI Director James Comey and U.S. Attorney Dana Boente. Together, these men could well form…

Feminists Silent on Illegal Alien Violence Against Women
The rape of a 14-year-old teenager in Maryland by at least one illegal immigrant has caused outrage throughout the nation, but generated surprising little outcry from feminist activists. Authorities confirmed that Sanchez-Milian was an illegal immigrant who…

Trump Admin Refused Entry to Muslim Athlete Who Was Granted Visa by Chuck Schumer, Then Sexually Abused Child
LAKE SARNAC, NY-One of two muslim athletes from India who were rejected entry into the United States during the brief Trump administration extreme vetting process in January is back in the news this week after sexually assaulting a child shortly after he was granted access to enter.
Tanveer Hussain Parra and Abid Kahn were both refused entry into the United States, but after Senators Chuck “crybaby” Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand contacted the U.S. State Department, the two were allowed to enter.
In January, Schumer was shedding tears over Trump’s refusal to let men like Kahn and Hussein into America.
Schumer applauded the athletes’ arrival in New York,”Still a country that welcome athletes from across the globe to compete in our stadiums, our snow-covered fields and everywhere in between.”
Today, the parents of a young girl in Lake Sarnac are shedding tears after Hussein sexually assaulted their daughter.
According to a report published in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Hussain was charged with felony first degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The incident happened on Monday in the town of St. Armand in a swimming pool. Hussein’s partner Khan said the girl followed the athletes during their stay and said she was “a nut case”.
Hussein and Kahn claim the young girl made up the story, but local police said other witnesses and social media evidence supports the charges against Hussain.
“He is not aware that she is minor in first place,” Kahn said. “We told him later that she is a minor. He doesn’t understand proper English, so he doesn’t know.”

Trump Looks to Give Black Colleges and Universities a Boost
By Anita Kumar and William Douglas
President Donald Trump is expected to provide historically black colleges and universities a long-awaited boost as he looks to outdo his predecessors — including the nation’s first African-American president — on a surprising issue.
Trump will sign an executive order as early as Monday, when the schools’ presidents arrive in Washington for a visit. It’s expected to significantly strengthen the office that pushes the federal government to do business with the colleges by moving it to the White House…
“It would be truly, truly historic,” said Leonard Haynes, a longtime educator who ran the office and is helping to write the executive order. “It’s part of a long time dream…none of (the other presidents) had the courage to do it.”
Though African-Americans overwhelmingly support Democrats at the polls, many education experts credit Republican leaders for helping to improve HBCUs, the common shorthand for historically black schools.
Some black college administrators say they were disappointed in President Barack Obama for not making the schools a priority and, in some cases, harming their financial health and contributing to declining enrollment with the changes he made to loan programs.
“The president has a strong commitment to them and understands over the last eight years they’ve been woefully neglected,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said. “And I think he wants to really show a commitment. … And so you’ll see, I think, not just a push this month, but in his budget and going forward.”
During the transition and into the start of his presidency, Trump’s advisers met with HBCU officials as they considered how to make good on Trump’s “New Deal For Black America,” which he unveiled at a speech in Charlotte, N.C. that alluded to black colleges.
Those meetings included Omarosa Manigault, a graduate of Central State University in Ohio and Washington’s Howard University, both HBCUs. She gained fame in the first season of “The Apprentice” and now serves as communications director for the Office of Public Liaison in the White House.
Some are pushing him to commit to a goal that HBCUs be awarded 5 percent of total federal grant, internship and cooperative agreement funding; and 10 percent of total federal contract funding awarded to colleges and universities, which would nearly double federal support to HBCUs. They also hope he will boost funding in his budget to be released mid-March.
The executive order will coincide with the visit of about 90 presidents of historically black colleges and universities, who will be in Washington for a daylong conference. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C. are scheduled to attend.
Curiosity Catches Moving Martian Sands
This pair of images shows effects of one Martian day of wind blowing sand underneath NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover on a non-driving day for the rover. Each image was taken just after sundown by the rover’s downward-looking Mars Descent Imager (MARDI). The area of ground shown in the images spans about 3 feet (about 1 meter) left-to-right.
The first image was taken on Jan. 23, 2017, during the 1,587th Martian day, or sol, of Curiosity’s work on Mars. Figure A is this image with a scale bar in centimeters. The second was taken on Jan. 24, 2017 (Sol 1588). The day-apart images by MARDI were taken as a part of investigation of wind’s effects during Martian summer, the windiest time of year in Gale Crater.
When Curiosity landed inside Gale Crater in August 2012, MARDI recorded the descent from the rover’s point of view. Malin Space Science Systems, San Diego, built and operates MARDI. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a division of the Caltech in Pasadena, California, manages the Mars Science Laboratory Project for the NASA Science Mission Directorate, Washington, and built the project’s Curiosity rover.

Conway Uses Nuclear Option on Chelsea Clinton in Twitter Fight
When it comes to the battle of the White House’s second ladies, Kellyanne Conway delivered a head severing blow to former first brat, Chelsea Clinton.
Chelsea took no time to take advantage of what could have been potential mass killing in France to take a swipe at Donald Trump’s right hand lady, Conway.
The younger Clinton challenged the Trump advisor after a misquote about the 2009 FBI operation that uncovered two Iraqi bomb making terrorists in Bowling Green, Kentucky, however there were no incidents and Conway later apologized for her misquote. A massacre was averted thanks to investigators.
Very grateful no one seriously hurt in the Louvre attack …or the (completely fake) Bowling Green Massacre. Please don't make up attacks.
— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) February 3, 2017
Conway fired back at the daughter of 2016’s presidential election loser, Hillary Clinton reminding her that it was mom who was the author of the most fictitious battle account in recent American history.
She pulled no punches, delivering a 1-2 knockout to the reported beneficiary of the Clinton Foundation. She also got personal, reminding Chelsea of her mother’s defeat in a real battle, the 2016 campaign.
Bosnia lie a Great reminder. And 2 @ChelseaClinton & others, you can't "invent" quality candidates either. I misspoke; you lost the election https://t.co/7TwnX2b5yA
— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) February 3, 2017
It was 2008. As the story went, Hillary Clinton told reporters she came under sniper fire while visiting Bosnia in 1996. Clinton detailed how she and her team had to run from the plane while taking fire from the enemy in the surrounding hillside.
“I remember landing under sniper fire, there was no greeting ceremony and we were told get to our vehicles,” Clinton detailed in her after action battlefield report. “Now, that is what happened.”
Not so. CBS news debunked Clinton’s claim. Clinton’s campaign team then doubled down her imaginary battle account.
“She meant that there was fire in the hillside around the area when we landed, which was the case,” according to campaign aide Lissa Muscatine.
Chelsea Clinton should remember that battle well, she was there. She also never corrected the false battle report given by her mother.
The similarity between the two accounts is that neither happened. The only difference between the Bowling Green Massacre and the grueling Battle of Bosnia in 1996 was that Conway apologize and made right on her statement. Hillary Clinton will probably take her war story to the grave with her despite plenty of news coverage and media debunking that proves it never happened that way.

Video: Navy Unit Flying Trump Flag in Support of Commander in Chief
When I was a young Marine in Twentynine Palms, a directive went out after some Marines were walking out of the base theater before movies, telling them not to.
That was the time when movies on base were preceded by a message from then Commander-In-Chief William Jefferson Clinton. There was no love for Clinton’s decimation of the United States military and Marines protested the deep cuts the only way they could, by walking out or turning their backs when Clinton spoke before the movie.
We were told to respect the Commander-In-Chief’s position even if you didn’t respect the man and we should remain at attention until his speech was over.
Fast-forward to 2017 and our troops finally have a Commander-In-Chief they can be proud of. So proud, they, admittedly out of regulation, flew a Trump flag on their convoy in Kentucky.
Some people were upset over this, particularly the liberal media outlets like Gannett who seized the opportunity to equate this action with a fascist banana republic.
Instead, America should be celebrating the boost to morale our military can now experience. They’ve been in a constant state of war for more than 15 years and haven’t felt that great about how the last Commander-In-Chief treated them for 8 of those years.
While, yes, it’s not right, give these guys a break. They put their lives on the line for you every day, but those of us who enjoy their warm, comfy blanket (or in my case, poncho liner) of freedom will find anything to complain about it seems. Your crocodile tears will probably get some hard-charging, motivated young sailor in a position that could impact his career while you sit there and bathe in the freedoms and comforts his comrades have fought and died for.
While their peers at Berkeley UC wear bandanas, burn down the campus, incite violence and protest America, these young men and women have sacrificed at least four years, if not more of their lives so those animals across college campuses can spend four more years on their parent’s dime getting an education in social welfare.

Free Speech, Pro-Immigrant Pro-Gay, Protesters Disrupt Speech by Gay Immigrant with Violence; Setting Fires
BERKELEY,CA-It appears the leftist rioters and protesters fighting for the rights of immigrants and homosexuals lose interest when that homosexual immigrant doesn’t agree with them. They also believe in free speech, unless that free speech doesn’t sound like their own free speech.
Hundreds of students and protesters protesting a speaking engagement on campus by Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos resorted to violence and even burning down their own campus to ensure the event did not go on.
In the 1960’s, UC Berkeley was the hub of the free speech movement in America. Today, it became ground zero for the new leftist anti-free speech movement sweeping America.
It’s a lesson most likely not taught at the university these days, but the protests of the 1960’s were a component that allowed former President Ronald Reagan to win the 1966 election for Governor in California on a platform that included a message to ” “clean up the mess in Berkeley”.
Today, the protests are emboldening the populist conservative movement in America, backed by support from the President of the United States who threatened to defund the university.
If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view – NO FEDERAL FUNDS?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 2, 2017
US Berkeley staff issued the following statement:
We condemn in the strongest possible terms the violence and unlawful behavior that was on display and deeply regret that those tactics will now overshadow the efforts to engage in legitimate and lawful protest against the performer’s presence and perspectives.
In the statement, the university clamored for free speech, but admitted it has taken a side in the free speech debate.
“While Yiannopoulos’ views, tactics and rhetoric are profoundly contrary to our own, we are bound by the Constitution, the law, our values and the campus’s Principles of Community to enable free expression across the full spectrum of opinion and perspective,” the University said, admitting the university prefers the leftist, liberal drones who continue to deface, damage and burn America over an intelligent gay immigrant who eloquently expresses his opinions in speeches and without violence.

Tom Kean to NJ Democrats: Spend More Time Fixing New Jersey, Less Time Protesting Donald Trump
TRENTON-Democratic lawmakers nationwide have been fixated on Donald Trump since his inauguration and have all but abandoned their responsibilities at the local level as they participate in protests and organize rallies against the President.
It’s something Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean wishes they would stop…and focus more on fixing the problems that plague the Garden State.
“With Senate Democrats so focused on federal affairs in Washington, they’ve ignored work on reforms they have the power to advance in Trenton that could have a real impact on the lives of every New Jerseyan,” Kean said. “They’ve planned votes to express opposition, but they haven’t planned any votes on cutting property taxes, nor have they planned votes on creating opportunities for students and job seekers, or on ethics reforms that would help to rebuild trust in our government institutions.”
Kean said New Jersey Democrats have been grandstanding in the recent national media spotlight, also fixated on the President’s actions.
“Rather than work for headlines, Senate Democrats should start working for New Jersey,” he added.
Officials Oppose Civilian Housing at NWS Earle
MONMOUTH COUNTY-Public officials opposing private housing at Naval Weapons Station Earle are asking for a stay on civilian housing at the base.
NJ Senate Republicans Reported:
Senator Jennifer Beck, Freeholder Director Lillian Burry, Colts Neck Mayor Russell Macnow and Tinton Falls Mayor Gerald Turning issued the following statement in advance of the Feb. 1 expiration of the temporary stay on Balfour Beatty, the housing administrator for Naval Weapons Station Earle from seeking civilians to rent on-base housing. All officials voiced their support for an additional stay to be granted until local officials can meet with the new Assistant Secretary of the Navy on this issue.
“In light of the new administration at the Navy, I am seeking that an additional stay be granted so we can bring Navy officials up to speed with the widespread public opposition to the incredibly serious safety issues associated with this proposal. I remain opposed to the Navy’s plan allowing members of the general public to live on an active military weapons installation; it is dangerous and I will continue to fight tirelessly against it.” said Senator Beck.
Freeholder Director Lillian Burry stated she has had a long history of opposing privatization of “Weapons Station Earle” housing. “By virtue of the mission that Earle so aptly carries on the storage and movement of munitions this thought should never ever be entertained. The recent events in our area at Seaside Heights and Chelsea in New York, serve to amplify the fact that this base should be secured for military use only. And as I have in the past, I presently look forward to meeting with the new NAVY Administration.”
“Colts Neck has many questions regarding the viability of this proposal and the impact it will have on our municipality. We have many unanswered questions and are adamantly opposed to all forms of the suggestion that civilians should be housed at Naval Weapons Station Earle” said Colts Neck Mayor Russell Macnow.
“I am vehemently opposed to the current proposal to allow civilians to obtain housing at Earle and will work with my colleagues to explore all possible avenues to fight this proposal. First on the list must be to meet with the new Assistant Secretary of the Navy and outline our concerns directly to him” said Tinton Falls Mayor Gerald Turning.
Trump: America is putting Iran on notice
WASHINGTON-The administration of President Donald Trump issued the following release concerning Iran’s testing of a ballistic missile:
Recent Iranian actions, including a provocative ballistic missile launch and an attack against a Saudi naval vessel conducted by Iran-supported Houthi militants, underscore what should have been clear to the international community all along about Iran’s destabilizing behavior across the Middle East.
The recent ballistic missile launch is also in defiance of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, which calls upon Iran “not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.
These are just the latest of a series of incidents in the past six months in which Houthi forces that Iran has trained and armed have struck Emirati and Saudi vessels, and threatened U.S. and allied vessels transiting the Red Sea. In these and other similar activities, Iran continues to threaten U.S. friends and allies in the region.
The Obama Administration failed to respond adequately to Tehran’s malign actions—including weapons transfers, support for terrorism, and other violations of international norms. The Trump Administration condemns such actions by Iran that undermine security, prosperity, and stability throughout and beyond the Middle East and place American lives at risk.
President Trump has severely criticized the various agreements reached between Iran and the Obama Administration, as well as the United Nations – as being weak and ineffective.
Instead of being thankful to the United States for these agreements, Iran is now feeling emboldened.
As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice.

Five Times Chuck Schumer Didn't Shed a Tear
New York Senator Chuck Schumer woo’d his liberal audience when she, we mean, he shed some crocodile tears over Donald Trump’s enhanced immigration vetting executive order.
Even though Schumer called the order mean spirited and un-American, he considered a halt on immigration in 2015 to block Syrian refugees.
Back then he supported a pause in immigration from the country during the height of its civil war.
Here are 5 times Chuck Schumer didn’t shed a tear.
An assault against America’s police officers swept America in 2016. 64 were shot dead nationwide. Neither Schumer nor President Barack Obama shed tears.
14 U.S. service members died in America’s fight against terror. Schumer never took to Twitter to shed a tear.
In November of 2016, America learned that Obamacare premiums were skyrocketing in many states and plan choices were decreasing. Many Americans struggle daily to keep their Obamacare, many can’t afford the premiums and are have lost their beloved plans and physicians. No tears were shed.
When a gunman shot and killed 46 people in an Orlando, Schumer didn’t shed tears publicly, but he did introduce more gun legislation to hinder law abiding American’s ability to defend themselves from future attacks.
When it was learned Planned Parenthood was found to be selling body parts and tissue of aborted fetuses, Schumer didn’t cry in front of any cameras.
In 2012 when the American Embassy in Libya was attacked by Islamic terrorists and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed it on a YouTube video. Schumer didn’t cry as the body of an American ambassador was dragged through the streets.
So why does Schumer cry when President Donald Trump imposes an executive order aimed at preventing such terrorists from entering the United States?
I think we all know the answer.
How Bernie Sanders has taken on the role of America's top internet troll
WASHINGTON, DC-Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders who was betrayed by his own party in the 2016 Democratic Presidential Primary has taken the form of internet troll since President Donald J. Trump took the oath of office.
Multiple times daily, the defeated senator takes to Twitter to try to lead the booing section of the Democratic Party. Like the guy who stands up at the Major League Baseball game to start the wave, hoping just once, others will follow, Sanders takes the stage, yelling whatever he can to get somebody’s attention.
Not only did his own party reject him in 2016, America rejected his opponent in November. Sanders has become that rowdy guy who’s mad that the baseball player gave the ball to somebody else and starts cursing out the player while everyone yells for him to sit down and shut up.

LGBTQ Community Shocked Over Trump's Latest Action
WASHINGTON,DC-America’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered community is in shock Tuesday morning after the Trump administration announced their policy regarding America’s LGBT citizens.
As many were expecting President Donald J. Trump to roll back a 2014 Obama administration executive order protecting LGBTQ citizens, he announced his continued support for the community.
“President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community,” the White House said. “The President is proud to have been the first ever GOP nominee to mention the LGBTQ community in his nomination acceptance speech, pledging then to protect the community from violence and oppression.”

Trump Mocks Chuck Schumer's "Fake Tears"
WASHINGTON, DC-President Donald Trump today took on Democrat minority leader Chuck Schumer after the liberal New Yorker shedded questionable tears while speaking against the 90 day travel restrictions placed on countries that sponsor Islamic terrorism.
“I noticed Chuck Schumer yesterday with fake tears. I’m going to ask him who was his acting coach. Because I know him very well. I don’t see him as a crier. If he is he’s a different man. There’s about a 5% chance that it was real, but I think they were fake tears.”

Trump, Pence Recognize Fallen U.S. Warrior in Yemen
WASHINGTON,DC-In a shift of policy from the Obama Administration, both President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence recognized a U.S. soldier killed in battle in Yemen.
“In a successful raid against al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) headquarters, brave US forces were instrumental in killing an estimated 14 AQAP members and capturing important intelligence that will assist the US in preventing terrorism against its citizens and people around the world,” read a release from the White House.
The message is refreshing to active duty servicemembers and veterans, to once again have a President in the Oval Office who respects America’s armed forces.
“We mourn the loss of a hero in battle against radical Islamic terror. Our prayers go to loved ones of fallen service member & the wounded,” Mike Pence said.

Trump Clarifies Media Myth About "Muslim Ban"
WASHINGTON, DC-President Donald J. Trump issued a statement in regards to his executive order implementing a temporary 90 day enhanced vetting process aimed at reducing the threat of Islamic based terrorists infiltration the nation.
“America is a proud nation of immigrants and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression, but we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border. America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave,” Trump wrote. “We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say. My policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months. The seven countries named in the Executive Order are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror. To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting.”
Trump dispelled the Democrat, liberal and mainstream media narrative that the order was aimed at religion. Many more populated Muslim nations were not included in the order.
“This is not about religion – this is about terror and keeping our country safe. There are over 40 different countries worldwide that are majority Muslim that are not affected by this order. We will again be issuing visas to all countries once we are sure we have reviewed and implemented the most secure policies over the next 90 days,” Trump added. “I have tremendous feeling for the people involved in this horrific humanitarian crisis in Syria. My first priority will always be to protect and serve our country, but as President I will find ways to help all those who are suffering.”

A video of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren shows a shockingly frightening video of masses of people mindlessly repeating her words, eerily similar to a 1960’s sci-fi movie about government mind control.
Trump Gives Mad Dog Mattis 30 Days to Deliver Preliminary Plan to Defeat ISIS
Donald Trump has given Secretary of Defense James “Mad Dog” Mattis 30 days to deliver a preliminary plan on how America will proceed to eliminate ISIS from Syria and Iraq.
“The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, is not the only threat from radical Islamic terrorism that the United States faces, but it is among the most vicious and aggressive. It is also attempting to create its own state, which ISIS claims as a caliphate,” Trump wrote in a memo to Mattis. “But there can be no accommodation or negotiation with it. For those reasons I am directing my Administration to develop a comprehensive plan to defeat ISIS. ”
“It is the policy of the United States that ISIS be defeated,” Trump added.
ISIS is responsible for the violent murder of American citizens in the Middle East, including the beheadings of James Foley, Steven Sotloff, and Peter Abdul-Rahman Kassig, as well as the death of Kayla Mueller. In addition, ISIS has inspired attacks in the United States, including the December 2015 attack in San Bernardino, California, and the June 2016 attack in Orlando, Florida. ISIS is complicit in a number of terrorist attacks on our allies in which Americans have been wounded or killed, such as the November 2015 attack in Paris, France, the March 2016 attack in Brussels, Belgium, the July 2016 attack in Nice, France, and the December 2016 attack in Berlin, Germany.
ISIS has engaged in a systematic campaign of persecution and extermination in those territories it enters or controls. If ISIS is left in power, the threat that it poses will only grow. We know it has attempted to develop chemical weapons capability. It continues to radicalize our own citizens, and its attacks against our allies and partners continue to mount. The United States must take decisive action to defeat ISIS.
That Time General Mattis Didn't Knifehand President Trump
WASHINGTON, DC-President Donald Trump committed one of the biggest gaffes of his young Presidency on Friday when he called retired Marine Corps General James Mattis a “tremendous soldier”.
While tens of thousands of liberals and the liberal news media react explosively to nearly every action of President Trump, they missed what was perhaps the only incident worthy of such a reaction.
Until that moment, Donald Trump’s presidency had been a flawless representation of what America desired.
The heinous act of disrespect by the President did not seem to go unnoticed by Mattis who made a quick command decision to keep his knife-hand firmly locked behind his back.
The declaration sent chills down the spine of thousands of Marines in the United States who immediately took to Twitter and Facebook to express their outrage over the Commander-in-Chief.
Of course, he shouldn’t take the attacks personally, we’re the same people who can argue for years at a time about how to roll sleeves or which MARPAT uniform should be worn at different times of the year. But it hurts to see our hero disgraced in such a manner.
Vice President Mike Pence appeared to catch the outrageous misstep as he snapped his head in Trump’s direction after the comment was made.
Mike Pence knows. His son Michael J. Pence is an officer in the United States Marine Corps.
It’s ok, Marines are used to civilians making that mistake. Whether or not Pence or Mattis later corrected the President remains unknown. Perhaps we can get Mike Pence’s team to acknowledge.

U.S. Conducts More Strikes Against ISIS in Syria, Iraq
U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorists in Syria and Iraq yesterday, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.
Officials reported details of yesterday’s strikes, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.
Strikes in Syria
Attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 12 strikes consisting of 18 engagements in Syria:
— Near Abu Kamal, a strike destroyed an oil wellhead.
— Near Dayr Az Zawr, a strike destroyed an oil pumpjack.
— Near Raqqa, nine strikes engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed 10 oil refinement stills, five oil storage tanks, three oil pumpjacks, an ISIL-held building and two oil tanker trucks.
— Near Tanf, a strike damaged an ISIL supply route.
Strikes in Iraq
Artillery as well as attack, bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 11 strikes consisting of 24 engagements in Iraq, coordinated with and in support of the Iraqi government:
— Near Huwayjah, a strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit.
— Near Haditha, two strikes engaged two ISIL tactical units and destroyed three vehicles, a rocket system and a vehicle-borne improvised bomb.
— Near Kisik, a strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an unmanned-aerial-vehicle launch site and an ISIL-held building.
— Near Mosul, five strikes engaged two ISIL tactical units; destroyed two ISIL headquarters, two vehicle-borne improvised bomb-making facilities, two barges, a fighting position, a tactical vehicle, a vehicle-borne improvised bomb, and an anti-air artillery system; and suppressed an ISIL tactical unit.
— Near Sinjar, a strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle.
— Near Tal Afar, a strike engaged an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed a command-and-control node and an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Task force officials define a strike as one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative, effect. Therefore, officials explained, a single aircraft delivering a single weapon against a lone ISIL vehicle is one strike, but so is multiple aircraft delivering dozens of weapons against buildings, vehicles and weapon systems in a compound, for example, having the cumulative effect of making those targets harder or impossible for ISIL to use. Accordingly, officials said, they do not report the number or type of aircraft employed in a strike, the number of munitions dropped in each strike, or the number of individual munition impact points against a target. Ground-based artillery fired in counterfire or in fire support to maneuver roles is not classified as a strike.
Part of Operation Inherent Resolve
The strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to eliminate the ISIL terrorist group and the threat it poses to Iraq, Syria, the region and the wider international community. The destruction of targets in Syria and Iraq further limits ISIL’s ability to project terror and conduct operations, officials said.
Coalition nations that have conducted strikes in Syria include the United States, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. Coalition nations that have conducted strikes in Iraq include the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
General James "Mad Dog" Mattis Sworn in as U.S. Secretary of Defense
By Jim Garamone DoD News, Defense Media Activity
WASHINGTON, Jan. 27, 2017 — President Donald J. Trump signed two executive actions and watched as Vice President Mike Pence ceremonially swore in Defense Secretary Jim Mattis at the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes here today.
Mattis once again swore “to support and defend the Constitution of the United States” just as he did as a young Marine reservist in 1969. Mattis retired as a four-star general in 2013.
The defense secretary welcomed the president to the headquarters of the military “where America’s awesome determination to defend itself is always on display. I would just tell you that you have made clear, Mr. President, your commitment to a strong national defense and the Americans honored in this hall remind us of our strength as a nation of patriots.”
The president reemphasized his “total confidence” in Mattis, calling him “a man of honor, a man of devotion and a man of total action.”
The secretary has been in place since he was confirmed by the Senate on Jan. 20. He reported to the Pentagon for work the next day.
Military America’s Backbone
Trump said the men and women in the military are the backbone of the United States. “You are the spirit of this nation in every sense,” he said. “The men and women of the United States military are the greatest force for justice and peace and good that have ever walked the face of this Earth.”
The president pledged to support service members and their families.
While at the Pentagon, Trump signed two executive actions to ensure “the sacrifices of our military are supported by the actions of our government.”
The first action initiates “a great rebuilding” of the armed services. It calls for developing a plan for new planes, new ships, new tools and new resources for the services. “As we prepare our budget request for Congress — and I think Congress is going to be very happy to see it — our military strength will be questioned by no one, but neither will our dedication to peace,” he said.
The second action establishes new vetting measures “to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America — we don’t want them here,” the president said. “We want to ensure that we are not admitting into our country the very threats that our soldiers are fighting overseas. We only want to admit into our country those who will support our country and love, deeply, our people.”
Trump promised to service members that his administration will “always have your back, we will always be with you.”
Before the ceremony, Trump and Pence met with defense leaders in the “Tank” — the meeting room of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Mattis Orders Program Reviews
Earlier in the day, Mattis directed reviews of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and the Presidential Aircraft Recapitalization program. Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis said the purpose of the reviews is “to inform programmatic and budgetary decisions, recognizing the critical importance of each of these acquisition programs.”
He called it a prudent step in anticipation of the budget process, which will help inform the secretary’s recommendations to the president regarding critical military capabilities.
“This action is also consistent with the president’s guidance to provide the strongest and most efficient military possible for our nation’s defense,” Davis said, “and it aligns with the secretary’s priority to increase military readiness while gaining full value from every taxpayer dollar spent on defense.”
Trump Remembers Victims of Holocaust
President Donald Trump on Thursday issued the following statement in regards to National Holocaust Remembrance Day.
“It is with a heavy heart and somber mind that we remember and honor the victims, survivors, heroes of the Holocaust. It is impossible to fully fathom the depravity and horror inflicted on innocent people by Nazi terror.
“Yet, we know that in the darkest hours of humanity, light shines the brightest. As we remember those who died, we are deeply grateful to those who risked their lives to save the innocent.
“In the name of the perished, I pledge to do everything in my power throughout my Presidency, and my life, to ensure that the forces of evil never again defeat the powers of good. Together, we will make love and tolerance prevalent throughout the world.”
President Trump Speaks with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto
The United States President Donald J. Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto spoke by phone this morning for an hour. The call was mutually arranged by their teams.
The two had a productive and constructive call regarding the bilateral relationship between the two countries, the current trade deficit the United States has with Mexico, the importance of the friendship between the two nations, and the need for the two nations to work together to stop drug cartels, drug trafficking and illegal guns and arms sales.
With respect to payment for the border wall, both presidents recognize their clear and very public differences of positions on this issue but have agreed to work these differences out as part of a comprehensive discussion on all aspects of the bilateral relationship.
Both presidents have instructed their teams to continue the dialogue to strengthen this important strategic and economic relationship in a constructive way.
Mike Pence Speaks at March for Life
On behalf of President Donald Trump, my wife Karen, and our daughter Charlotte, I’d like to welcome you all to Washington, D.C. for the 44th annual March for Life.
And I am deeply humbled to be the first Vice President of the United States to ever have the privilege to attend this historic gathering.
More than two-hundred and forty years ago, our Founders wrote words that have echoed through the ages.
They declared “these truths to be self-evident.” That we are, all of us, “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights,” and “that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Forty-four years ago, our Supreme Court turned away from the first of these timeless ideals.
But today, three generations hence, because of all of you, and the many more who stand with us in marches just like this across this nation, life is winning in America again.
That is evident in the election of pro-life majorities in the Congress of the United States.
But it is no more evident than in the historic election of a president who stands for a stronger America, a more prosperous America, and a president who I proudly say stands for the right to life – President Donald Trump.
President Trump actually asked me to be here today to thank all of you for your support and for your stand for life and for your compassion for the women and children of this nation.
One week ago today, on the steps of the Capitol, we saw the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States. Our President is a man with broad shoulders and a big heart. His vision, his energy, and his optimism are boundless, and I know he will Make America Great Again.
From his first day in office, he has been keeping his promises to the American people.
And at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, we’re in the promise-keeping business.
That’s why, on Monday President Trump reinstated the Mexico City policy to prevent foreign aid from funding organizations that promote or perform abortions.
That’s why this administration will work with Congress to end taxpayer funding for abortion and abortion providers, and we will devote those resources to health-care services for women across America.
And that’s why, next week, President Donald Trump will announce a Supreme Court nominee who will uphold the God-given liberties enshrined in our Constitution in the tradition of the late and great Justice Antonin Scalia.
Life is winning in America. And today is a celebration of the progress that we have made in the cause.
You know, I have long believed that a society can be judged by how we care for our most vulnerable – the aged, the infirm, the disabled, and the unborn.
We’ve come to a historic moment in the cause of life, and we must meet this moment with respect and compassion for every American.
Life is winning in America for many reasons.
Life is winning through the steady advance of science that illuminates when life begins.
Life is winning through the generosity of millions of adoptive families, who open their hearts and homes to children in need.
Life is winning through the compassion of caregivers and volunteers at crisis pregnancy centers and faith-based organizations who minister to women, in cities and towns across this country.
And life is winning through the quiet counsels between mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, between friends across kitchen tables, and over coffee on college campuses the truth is being told and compassion is overcoming convenience, hope is defeating despair.
In a word, life is winning in America because of all of you.
So I urge you to press on.
But as it is written, “let your gentleness be evident to all.” Let this movement be known for love, not anger – for compassion, not confrontation. When it comes to matters of the heart, there’s nothing stronger than gentleness.
I believe we will continue to win the hearts and the minds of the rising generation if our hearts first break for young mothers and their unborn children and we do all we can to meet them where they are, with generosity, not judgment.
To heal our land and restore a culture of life we must continue to be a movement that embraces all and cares for all out of respect for the dignity and worth of every person.
Enshrined on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial are the words of our third president, who admonished us to remember that “God who gave us life gave us liberty.”
On behalf of the President of the United States, and my little family, we thank you for your stand for life, for your compassion, for your love for the women and children of this nation.
Be assured, we will not grow weary. We will not rest until we restore a culture of life for ourselves and our posterity.
God Bless you, and God Bless the United States of America.
