CBP Officers at the Laredo Port of Entry Apprehend Man Sought for Sexual Assault

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry apprehended a man at the Juarez Lincoln International Bridge who had an outstanding warrant out of Clayton County, Georgia, for sexual assault.         

Assisting our law enforcement partners locate fugitives of the law is one of the many duties our officers perform on a daily basis,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. “Apprehending individuals wanted in connection with alleged crimes of a sexual nature exemplifies the border security aspect of our mission.”

The apprehension occurred Sunday, Feb. 6 at the Juarez Lincoln International Bridge. A CBP officer processing commercial bus traffic arriving from Mexico, referred Raymundo Alvarado Trejo, a 62-year-old male Mexican citizen, for a secondary inspection.  After escorting the passenger to secondary, subsequent biometric verification through law enforcement databases confirmed that the subject had an outstanding felony warrant for Sexual Assault, entered by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department in the State of Georgia.

CBP officers confirmed the warrant to be active. CBP turned Alvarado Trejo over to the custody of the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
