Cherry Hill warns of hazardous roads as snow continues

Cherry Hill, NJ – Snow continued to fall across Cherry Hill Monday morning, bringing additional accumulation, gusty winds and reduced visibility as township officials urged residents to limit travel to essential purposes only.

The Cherry Hill Police Department said road conditions remain hazardous, particularly on secondary streets and untreated surfaces. Snow-covered pavement and drifting have made travel difficult even as plow crews work to maintain access for emergency vehicles and critical services.

Police, the Department of Public Works and the township’s Office of Emergency Management remain active throughout the storm response. Officials asked residents to keep vehicles off roadways to allow plows to operate safely and efficiently.

Forecasts call for continued snowfall through the day, with winds contributing to low visibility in some areas.

Safety reminders as residents begin shoveling

As snowfall begins to taper in some areas, officials reminded residents that shoveling heavy, wet snow can place significant strain on the body. The township advised residents to pace themselves, take frequent breaks and push snow when possible instead of lifting.

Those with heart or respiratory conditions are urged to avoid overexertion. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, dress in layers and stop immediately if experiencing chest discomfort, shortness of breath, dizziness or unusual fatigue.
