CHICAGO, IL – A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, and a hate crime after allegedly stabbing a 55-year-old man on the city’s South Side late Monday night.
Police said Timothy House, of the 10400 block of South Wabash Avenue, was arrested around 10:32 p.m. Monday in the 10300 block of South Michigan Avenue, less than a half hour after the attack. Investigators identified him as the suspect in the stabbing that left the victim seriously injured near House’s residence in the 5th District.
Authorities confirmed House faces one felony count of attempted first-degree murder, one felony count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and one felony count of hate crime.
House is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing at 2600 South California Avenue on December 24. Police said no additional details about the motive or circumstances have been released as the investigation continues.
The suspect was charged after being taken into custody without incident.
