Child, 7, Fatally Shot in Youngstown Home

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – A 7-year-old child was fatally shot in a home on the South Side of Youngstown on Sunday morning, the Youngstown Police Department has confirmed.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Marmion Avenue around 8 a.m., and began life-saving measures before paramedics took over.

The child was subsequently taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, where he was pronounced dead.

While early investigations indicate the shooting might have been accidental, the police have not dismissed other possibilities.

They will continue their investigations and liaise with prosecutors regarding potential charges. Further details are pending.
