‘Child Safety Soldier’ Shane Coyle arrested in Monmouth County, charged with simple assault

Ocean Township, NJ – Shane J. Coyle, a self-styled online child predator hunter who once appeared on Dr. Phil under the moniker “Child Safety Soldier,” was arrested in Monmouth County and charged with simple assault, according to jail and court records.

Coyle, 46, was booked into the Monmouth County Jail on January 1, 2026, on one count of simple assault under N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1A(1), described as “purposely or knowingly causing bodily injury.” The charge is classified as a disorderly persons offense.
