CINCINNATI, Ohio – A 58-year-old man has been arrested after a Christmas morning shooting in Cincinnati’s West End left a woman and two children wounded, according to police.
Officers responded around 2:58 a.m. to reports of multiple gunshots in the 2100 block of Central Avenue near Kindel Avenue, the Cincinnati Police Department said in a statement. At the scene, officers found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds — a 36-year-old woman and two girls, ages 10 and 15.
The children were taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, while the adult victim was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. All three are expected to survive, and their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Police later arrested James Brown, 58, in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with three counts of felonious assault and remains in custody.
Investigators have not released a motive, and the circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain under investigation.
