Cliffside Park Man Faces Charges for Assault of a Minor

CLIFFSIDE PARK, NJ – The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office has announced the arrest of Bernardo Velazco, a resident of Cliffside Park, on charges related to the sexual assault of a child.

Under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fairview Police Department, led by Chief Vincent Bellucci, a collaborative investigation led to Velazco’s arrest.

On Tuesday, the Fairview Police Department alerted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit about the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile.

The investigation revealed that Velazco, in a supervisory role, sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in Fairview.

Velazco faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. As of the report, Velazco is considered a fugitive from justice.
