Columbus man wins $1 million Powerball prize from Players Cafe ticket

Columbus, OH – A Columbus man is now $1 million richer after matching five numbers in the December 22 Powerball drawing, with the winning ticket sold at Players Cafe, located at 17 West 5th Avenue.

The ticket matched the five white balls drawn — 3, 18, 36, 41, 54 — falling just one number short of the jackpot by missing the red Powerball number, 7. The win earned the player the $1 million second-tier prize, which amounts to $728,750 after 27.125% in state and federal tax withholding.

This win came just two days before the record-breaking $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot was claimed in a separate drawing on December 24. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education since 1974.
