Dorchester County woman wins $100,000 on crossword-themed scratch-off ticket

CAMBRIDGE, MD – A Dorchester County woman who regularly plays Maryland Lottery crossword scratch-offs has claimed a $100,000 top prize, marking her second major win from the same style of ticket.

The $10 ticket was purchased at Zip Market, located at 405 High Street in Cambridge, and was part of the $100,000 Crossword 9th Edition game. The winner, who previously won $30,000 on a crossword scratch-off in 2019, claimed her prize on Tuesday at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The winning ticket is the fifth of nine $100,000 top prizes in the current edition of the game. Four top prizes remain unclaimed, along with seven second-tier $10,000 prizes and tens of thousands of smaller prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000.

The game launched on August 20 and has become a favorite among scratch-off players, particularly those who enjoy word puzzles. As a result of selling the winning ticket, Zip Market will receive a $1,000 retailer bonus from the Maryland Lottery, equal to 1% of the prize value.

All prizes must be claimed at Maryland Lottery headquarters, and winners of high-tier prizes are advised to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe place.
