CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has issued the following police blotter reports regarding incidents that involved police response over the past several days. These incidents were reported and released as-is by the department. The CPD responds to numerous calls per day for police service. This list does not represent all calls for service during that period. The CPD reminds residents that all suspects listed in this police blotter are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

ARMED ROBBERY ARREST
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at approximately 9:00 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 600 block of N. Centre Street for an armed robbery. Officers arrived on scene and learned that the suspect, John Conner, had been armed with a knife, walked into the store, and attempted to rob the owner. A struggle ensued between Conner and the owner. The owner was able to disarm and detain Conner until responding officers arrived. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation. Conner was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jessica Miller. The bench warrant was issued as a result of Miller failing to appear in court on September 6, 2022. She was originally charged with Trespassing: Posted Property. Miller was arrested and transported to Central Booking. She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

BENCH WARRANT SERVED/ASSAULT ON POLICE ARREST
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at approximately 1:52 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue for a disturbance. Police learned that Terrell Peterson, a subject on scene of the disturbance, had an active bench warrant. The warrant had been issued as a result of Peterson failing to appear in court on August 12, 2022. He was originally charged with Assault-2nd Degree. Officers contacted Peterson who was inside of the residence. Peterson refused to cooperate with officers and exit the residence. He eventually opened the door and exited the residence. When an officer attempted to restrict his movement, Peterson pushed the officer and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, Peterson assaulted another officer and resisted arrest. Officers were able to eventually gain control of Peterson and take him into custody. Peterson was then transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. Peterson was held on a $2,500 bond for the warrant and a $2,500 bond for the on-view charges.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Tamera Fitzpatrick. The summons was issued as a result of a private citizen filing for charges against Fitzpatrick at the District Court of Allegany County. Fitzpatrick was released pending trial.
