Cumberland man jailed without bond after assault arrest on Grand Avenue

CUMBERLAND, MD – A 53-year-old man was taken into custody Friday afternoon following an assault that left a woman injured on Grand Avenue, according to the Cumberland Police Department.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Grand Avenue around 4:36 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault. Upon arrival, police spoke with a woman who stated that she had been assaulted by Thomas Heinrich Lee Sr. Officers observed visible injuries on the victim consistent with her account.

Lee Sr. was arrested at the scene and later appeared before a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing. He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

He faces charges including first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
