Cyclist sought after hit-and-run leaves woman injured in Northwest DC

Washington, DC — Police are searching for a bicyclist who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene Monday evening in Northwest, leaving the victim hospitalized, officials said Wednesday.

The incident happened around 7:00 p.m. on September 22 in the 1700 block of Columbia Road, Northwest. Investigators said the suspect, riding a bicycle, collided with an adult female pedestrian and continued on without stopping or identifying himself.

Responding officers found the woman unconscious but breathing. DC Fire and EMS transported her to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The suspect was captured on nearby surveillance video, which police have released to the public in hopes of generating leads.
