Cyclist sought after teen girl groped on Bay Ridge street

BROOKLYN, NY – Police are searching for a man who allegedly groped a 17-year-old girl in Bay Ridge before fleeing the scene on a bicycle Monday evening.

The incident happened around 7:05 p.m. near 13th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Investigators said the suspect approached the teen from behind while riding a bicycle, grabbed her buttocks, and then pedaled away westbound on Bay Ridge Avenue.

The victim was not injured but immediately reported the attack to police.

Detectives from the 68th Precinct are now reviewing surveillance footage and seeking witnesses who may have seen the suspect in the area.

Description of suspect released

Police described the man as wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, a beige jacket, black pants, and light-colored sneakers at the time of the incident.

Authorities have released an image of the suspect and are asking the public to help identify him.

Officers have increased patrols in the neighborhood following the report as they work to locate the individual.

Residents and business owners are being asked to review security footage for any sightings of a man matching the description.
