D.C. Police Make Arrest in November Homicide Case

Washington, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that took place last November in Southeast D.C. The incident occurred on the evening of November 13, 2023, when Seventh District officers were called to the 1300 block of Valley Place, following reports of gunfire.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Jireh Emanuel Martinez with multiple gunshot injuries. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Following an investigation, Isaac Pinkney, a 33-year-old resident of Southeast, D.C., was arrested on Tuesday based on a warrant issued by the DC Superior Court.

Pinkney is facing charges of First Degree Murder while Armed, marking a significant development in the ongoing effort to address violent crime in the area.
