D.C. Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting on 50th Street

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting that took place in Northeast Washington this summer, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday. The suspect, Ronald Brewer, faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

The incident occurred on July 21 at around 9:23 p.m. in the 500 block of 50th Street, Northeast. According to police, Brewer allegedly approached the victim, fired a handgun, and fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

After months of investigation, police apprehended Brewer on October 28, bringing closure to the case. Authorities did not disclose further details on the circumstances leading to the arrest or whether any other suspects are being sought.
