D.C. teens busted after midnight mugging

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two juveniles were arrested early Monday after a violent robbery in Southwest Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers responded around 12:01 a.m. to the 200 block of N Street, Southwest, where a victim said two suspects known to him assaulted him and took his belongings. One suspect reportedly restrained the victim while the other carried out the attack.

Shortly after, officers patrolling the area spotted two individuals matching the descriptions provided. Both suspects were stopped and taken into custody.

Police identified the suspects as a 14-year-old male from Southeast D.C. and a 13-year-old male from Capitol Heights, Maryland. Both have been charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).

The investigation remains active.
